From Naples International Airport (NAP)
The closest international airport to Sorrento is Naples International Airport (NAP), also known as Naples Capodichino Airport.
By direct shuttle bus - The most convenient public transport option is the Curreri Viaggi shuttle bus, which provides direct connections between Naples International Airport and Sorrento. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic, and the bus terminates at Sorrento Railway Station, in the town centre.
The shuttle bus departs from the Tourist Bus Parking Area at Naples Airport. Advance booking is recommended, particularly during the summer season.
From Sorrento Railway Station, the Grand Hotel Vesuvio can be reached by taxi or local bus. The hotel is located at Via Nastro Verde 7, Sorrento.
By private transfer or taxi - Private transfers can be arranged directly from Naples International Airport to the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. From Naples Central Railway Station
Participants arriving in Naples by train can travel to Sorrento by the Circumvesuviana railway service, which connects Napoli Piazza Garibaldi with Sorrento. Napoli Piazza Garibaldi is located directly below Naples Central Railway Station.
The journey to Sorrento takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. From Sorrento Railway Station, the Grand Hotel Vesuvio can be reached by taxi or local bus.
By Sea from Naples
During the summer season, Sorrento can also be reached by sea from Naples. Hydrofoil and ferry services connect Naples’ Molo Beverello with Sorrento, Navigazione Libera del Golfo or Alilauro, offering a scenic alternative to road and rail travel.
Participants arriving at Naples International Airport can reach Molo Beverello by taxi or airport bus before continuing by sea to Sorrento. Please check the operators’ websites for current schedules and availability, as services may vary according to the season and weather conditions.
By Car
Sorrento can be reached from Naples by following the A3 motorway towards Salerno, taking the exit for Castellammare di Stabia, and continuing along the SS145 towards Sorrento. Please note that traffic on the Sorrento Peninsula can be particularly heavy during the summer months. Participants travelling by car are therefore advised to allow sufficient time for their journey.
